So this ended up being my last day on the trail in 2018 and since I am writing this in 2020, I don’t remember much of the details of this day. From the pictures you can tell it was beautiful and I don’t remember it being particularly difficult but it was smokey. Basically Washington was burning in 2018 and there were fires everywhere. You can see the smoke in the air in the pictures of Dewey Lake. Just past Dewey Lake there was a major road and I had Lenora come to pick me up (only about a 30 minute drive from Packwood where we stayed) and that was the end of the PCT for 2018. They had already closed much of the trail north of me including the last about 100 miles and so PCT hikers were not able to get to the monument on the border.
